Frequently-asked Questions

While creating some teaching aids with Print Shop Ensemble III, I used clipart graphics from a commercial CD-ROM. When transferring the Print Shop file from my laptop to the classroom desktops, Print Shop would not display the graphic, reporting an ‘Unable to find Library’ error. What am I doing wrong?

When you wish to use clipart other than the one already provided within Print Shop Ensemble III, you usually go to the Menu and select Object > Add > Import. This will enable you to access any other clipart CD-ROM and select additional graphics. When this is done, Print Shop makes note of the location from where the image was accessed, and refers to it in the saved project. So when you transfer the project to another computer (or even if you re-load the project on your own computer), Print Shop will invariably look for the image in device D:/ (the common reference for the CD-ROM). This may also happen if you import a graphic from any folder on your hard disk.

This is what happens when Print Shop doesn't find an image.

To solve the problem, you will need to instruct Print Shop to embed the graphic in the project. This means that the graphic will actually make part of the project, and will always be present wherever you transfer the project. When loading the project, Print Shop will not look for the image on the hard disk or the CD-ROM, as it will be embedded in the document.

To embed the imported images, go to Save. Before clicking OK, click on the Options button. A window similar to the one below should appear. Make sure to click on Full Save (All Data). Next time you open the document, the image should appear instead of the grey placeholder.

This is what to do to avoid the problem.
